Hobart – Race 2 2:42pm AEDT
West On Broadway has claimed two wins from his four race starts this campaign and he is clearly racing in career best form. This race is not particularly strong and there isn’t a great deal of speed, so it would not surprise to see Simon Kok take the West Quest gelding straight to the front and control the race. $5.50 is a great price.
Hobart – Race 7 5.49pm AEDT
The Inevitable has recorded three wins on the trot in impressive fashion and he is deserving of his status as short-priced favourite in the Tasmanian Guineas betting market. He recorded fairly comfortable wins in both the Fumigation Cup and the Jansz Trophy and he is a horse that still has plenty of upside. Barrier five is ideal and he will prove very tough to beat.
Hobart – Race 8 6.25pm AEDT
Bidirectional has recorded two wins from his past three starts and there is an argument to be made that the West Quest gelding is racing in the best form of his career at seven years of age. There is no fitter horse in this field and he has a simply outstanding record over this distance – four wins and four placings from nine starts. The $4.80 that is currently available is well and truly over the odds.
Hobart – Race 9 6:55pm AEDT
Holy Diamond has been sent to Tasmania after starting his racing career with the Lindsay Park team in Victoria and he claimed a maiden race win at Launceston last start. He is always a horse that has had some ability and it would not surprise to see him string together a few wins in the Apple Isle. The $8.50 currently available is well and truly over the odds in what is a very open race.
