Start repping the newest member of the St. Louis Cardinals.
After eight seasons in the desert, Paul Goldschmidt is taking his talents to St. Louis.
On Wednesday, the Arizona Diamondbacks traded Goldschmidt to the St. Louis Cardinals for catcher Carson Kelly, pitcher Luke Weaver, infielder Andy Young, and a 2019 draft pick.
Goldschmidt, a six-time all-star, brings his power bat to a lineup that hit 205 home runs last season, but missed out on the final Wild Card spot by 2.5 games. Last season, Goldschmidt hit .290/.389/.533 with 33 home runs and 35 doubles in 158 games. Over the past six seasons, the 31-year-old has averaged 30 home runs, 100 RBIs, and 36 doubles per year. So yeah, the Cardinals are definitely getting an upgrade.
On Friday, Goldschmidt was officially introduced to St. Louis, and while it may be less than 48 hours since the trade went down, there’s already apparel dropping for the newest Cardinal. Here’s an early look at what’s been released so far.
Since this is a special event item, shipping dates will vary depending on the shirt. However, the items will ship no later than Dec. 28.
How about the Goldy Arch?
The nickname definitely has a ring to it!
Here’s the first look at Goldschmidt’s new Cardinals uniform.
Details: For the dire hard Goldschmidt fans out there, Fanatics also offers a Jersey Assurance Program, which means that any jersey purchased within the last 90 days can be exchanged for free if the player switches teams during that time span.
With offseason trades and free-agent signings beginning to heat up as the Winter Meetings get underway, we’ll be tracking all the new merch and apparel that drops over the next few weeks. Stay tuned!
