Ascot – Race 2 4.04pm AEDT
Danny George will return to the races in this contest and he is a horse that generally does produce his best form fresh. He has recorded two wins from as many first-up starts and he has trialled nicely ahead of his return. On his best form he is the class horse in this field and the $5.50 currently available is over the odds.
Ascot – Race 4 5.24pm AEDT
Royal Statue has recorded four wins on the trot and there is no reason that he can’t continue his winning ways. 1500 metres will not be a problem and he has a class edge over the rest of this field. William Pike is in the saddle and he should be able to settle him closer to the speed than he did last start.
Ascot – Race 6 6:35pm AEDT
Celebrity Dream gets her chance to return to winning form in the Jungle Dawn Classic. She has raced well without getting the job done this campaign and she may be crying out for 1400 metres at this stage of her career. She is the class horse in this field and she should be able to deliver William Pike another winner.
Ascot – Race 8 7.50pm AEDT
Material Man is great value in what is an excellent edition of the Kingston Town Classic. He produced a tough effort to finish third in the Railway and the return to weight-for-age suits him as does the step-up to 1800 metres. He finished second behind Pounamu in this race 12 months ago and he can go one better in 2018.
