Milwaukee Brewers vs Los Angeles Dodgers
The Dodgers face a tough road test traveling to Milwaukee for Game 1, but they’ll feel pretty confident knowing today’s starter Clayton Kershaw threw 7.0 flawless innings against the Braves last week. LA’s bats have also been heating up, especially Max Muncy, who is tied with fellow teammate Manny Machado for the most home runs hit this postseason. The Brewers are a dangerous run-scoring team, but they’ll have their work cut out for them against one of the best postseason pitchers in the history of the game.
New Zealand vs Australia
Make sure you tune into this first test. It’s the start of something new, and with so many familiar faces now gone, the scoreboard could be close. The names to watch in the green and gold include James Tedesco and Damien Cook, both of which will play a crucial part on both sides of the ball this afternoon. Latrell Mitchell, however, resumes following strong Origin and Grand Final campaigns, and is at nice odds to score a try.
Brisbane Bullets vs Cairns Taipans
The Bullets prepare for Game 2 of Round 1 following their resounding road win over the Breakers on Thursday night. Brisbane enter as the clear favourites against their inter-state foes, but funnily enough, have struggled at the shorter odds in recent history. The Bullets have won only two of their last six games as the home favourite, so a big 20+ point performance from Cameron Gliddon is necessary if the hosts are to beat the line.
