Royal Randwick – Race 3 1.25pm AEST
I really like Another Dollar’s first-up from a break. She ran fourth behind Best Of Days and I think that form line might be stronger than the race won by Goodfella. I think Another Dollar from barrier one will get the ideal run here and the step-up in trip for a horse that was placed in the Queensland Oaks is ideal.
Royal Randwick – Race 4 2:00pm AEST
I can’t go against Redzel in The Shorts. I thought he paraded a little bit of the big side before he won first-up, where he was dominant in the Concorde Stakes, and I can’t see him going backwards after that strong performance over 1000 metres. He will go into The Everest as one of the favourites once again.
Royal Randwick – Race 7 3.50pm AEST
You can probably have ten picks in this and miss the winner, but I was most impressed with the first-up win of Madam Rouge. She has only had the three race starts, but she has won two of them and she had a win over El Dorado Dreaming at Warwick Farm last time in. She beat the older mares first-up at Canterbury and she was able to lead all the way. A lot of the fancies in this race are drawn poorly on the map and she should be able to go forward from barrier eight.
Royal Randwick – Race 8 4.30pm AEST
I am sticking with Avilius. He was most impressive first-up and most impressive second-up as well. Last start, Glyn Schofield angled him out at the 200 and really didn’t ask him for a full effort. He won easing down in the finish and the step-up to 2000 metres ideal. It is a big field and he will get back, but he has that turn-of-foot and he can continue on his winning ways in Australia.
